Thank you for registering for the Virtual 2021 PSA Annual Meeting! Below you will find helpful information on what to expect and what you should be sure to see and do while you are here. If you have any questions during the meeting, please visit the PSA Help Desk, located in the lobby. 


Lobby – Once you are logged in, you will be taken to the PSA Annual Meeting Lobby. Here you have access to everything available in the platform. Please note the navigation toolbar at the bottom of the screen. This toolbar is available in every room to help you navigate around the platform. There is also hanging navigational signage, like you would see in a traditional convention center, to make navigation easier.

PSA Help Desk – If you are experiencing technical issues, can’t find something or just have a general question, please visit the PSA Help Desk. Platform technicians will be available throughout the meeting to help with any technical issues, select Technical Assistance for this kind of aid. PSA staff will also be available throughout the meeting to help you with any other requests or questions you might have, to connect with staff about non-technical issues, select PSA Staff Chat.

Gamification – Throughout the meeting platform there are hidden graphics and icons. When you discover one of these treasures, click on it to earn points. You can also gain points by adding content to your “briefcase”. The briefcase will house any materials that you want to easily reference again later. The five attendees with the most points on Thursday, July 22nd at 2pm CST will receive prizes (see below for more detail)! Please note that some graphics/icons earn more points than others.

  • 1st place (top point scorer) – Free registration to the 2022 PSA Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX and a gift basket full of goodies from San Antonio
  • 2nd place – Free registration to the 2022 PSA Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX
  • 3rd-5th place - $25 USD gift card to a San Antonio restaurant

Chat Function – Throughout the entire platform there is the ability to private chat with an attendee or create chat groups. You can do this by going to the attendee list and clicking on the “chat icon” next to the attendee you wish to chat with. From the chat screen you can add additional individuals to your chat. This year there is also the ability for attendees to chat with each other (or with booth representatives) over video calls! Once you have connected with an attendee using the attendee list and clicking on the chat icon, you will have the option to click the video chat icon to chat on-camera in real time.

Please note that attendees listed in the chat are those who are currently logged into the platform.

Ballroom – Enter the Ballroom to find and view PSA Symposia, the Poultry Science® 100th Anniversary Celebration (Tuesday, July 20 at 4-5p PM CST), and the PSA and Hatchery Business Meetings. Please see the Program Book or daily agenda for the days and times of each. Symposia recordings will be available in the platform a few hours after the live symposia airing, if not sooner. If two symposia are airing at the same time, you will be able to select either of the concurrent symposia from the Ballroom’s list of presentations.

Networking Lounge – Enter the Networking Lounge to gain access to the PSA social events!

  • Virtual Magic Show with Alan Hudson Tuesday, July 20 at 5-6 PM CST
  • Fellow and Student Talks (F.A.S.T.) Hour Wednesday, July 21 at 4-5 PM CST
  • Student Family Feud Competition: The Final Round Wednesday, July 21 at 5-6 PM CST

Resource Center – Enter the Resource Center to get access to the PSA Yearbook, a listing of the PSA Foundation’s Award Winners, the Program Book, information about the Fun Run, the Job Board (check out the FREE 2-week job listing!), and attendee FAQs.

Sessions – Enter the Session room to find and view all of the available sessions by topic. Simply click on the topic you are interested in and a list of available presentations will appear. Click on the “play icon” next to each presentation to view. Within this screen you can also add a presentation to your briefcase (icon to the right of any content list) to bookmark it, to save for later or view again. Please note, all virtual meeting content will be available within the platform to attendees until September 20, 2021.

Oral Abstracts Presentation Color Schemes:

Student Competition Entries –  Orange 
LATAM Presentations  Green 
All Other Oral Presentations -  Blue 

Once you have chosen a presentation to view, you will note the tabs on the pop-out screen for related content like the abstract and presenter details. Here you will also find a chat box that is specific to the presentation and abstract author. You can use this feature to ask a question or make a comment to a particular presenter.

Oral presentations that have been entered into the student competition are to have all judge-asked questions answered by Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 5:00 PM CST.

Posters – Navigate to the poster room to enter and view all of the available sessions by topic. Select the topic you are interested in, and a list of available posters will appear. You can add a presentation to your briefcase (icon to the right of any content list) to bookmark it and save it for later. Please note, all virtual meeting content will be available within the platform to attendees until September 20, 2021.

Poster Abstracts Presentation Color Schemes:

Student Competition Entries -  Orange

While the posters will be available throughout the meeting, PSA has scheduled a Poster Reception for July 19, 2021 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM CST where poster presenters will be available online to answer any questions you might have.

Expo Hall – Enter the Expo Hall to view all of our 2021 exhibitors. Within the booth you can even talk live with available representatives via video or chat. PSA is grateful for the continued support of our sponsors/exhibitors this year so, please do take the time to stop by and visit their booths.

Search Function – Use the search function, located in the top menu bar, to search content by keywords, presenter’s name or company/institution.

Certificates of Attendance – Certificates of Attendance will be sent to all registered meeting attendees by Friday, July 23, 2021.
